Member for Lindsay Melissa McIntosh says the cost-of-living crisis is the “biggest concern” facing young Australians as Lifeline revealed “80 per cent” of their calls related to cost-of-living pressures.

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says the government is “raising the white flag” on the challenge of inflation and is leaving the RBA to do “all the heavy lifting”.

“Australians will pay the price because they will see their mortgages continue to increase,” she told Sky News Australia. “Inflation is the greatest driver of the cost-of-living crisis in this country; it’s a thief in the night.”
