Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stated that a massive peace rally organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) would not impact the ongoing criminal investigation against Vice President Sara Duterte. The rally, attended by millions of INC members and supporters, was perceived as a display of support for Duterte, who faces impeachment complaints and an NBI investigation concerning alleged misuse of funds and threats against President Marcos Jr. and other officials.

Duterte is also under investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation in connection with the supposed threat she issued against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, First Liza Araneta-Marcos and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. They pointed out that Remulla is NBI’s “administrative superior, head of agency and the President’s chief alter-ego.”
