Vice President Sara Duterte recently returned from a private trip to Japan where she met with overseas Filipino workers. She is expected to address a video statement regarding the ongoing peace rally organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo in support of her against impeachment moves.
Vice President Sara Duterte made a private trip to Japan over the weekend, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed on Monday. During her stay in Japan , Duterte visited various groups of overseas Filipino workers (OFW). She has since returned to the Philippines. The OVP has not yet confirmed whether Duterte will attend the ongoing peace rally organized by members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) at Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
However, the Vice President is expected to release a video statement regarding the national INC rally in the afternoon. The INC is holding the National Rally for Peace to express support for President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s stance against impeachment moves against Vice President Sara Duterte. The President previously stated that impeaching Duterte would not benefit anyone. As of 10 a.m. Monday, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported that at least 1.5 million INC members from nearby provinces including Cavite, Quezon, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Zambales had arrived in Manila for the National Rally of Peace
