As the Ottawa Redblacks head into the Feb. 14 start of CFL free agency, they\u0027re hoping to plug some holes in their lineup. But don\u0027t look for many huge splashes come Tuesday.

With a week-long free agency negotiation window that closes Sunday at noon, it’s believed the Redblacks have verbal agreements in place with middle linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox, defensive lineman Michael Wakefield, offensive lineman Terran Vaughn and maybe others. They hoped to add former Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Wes Hills, but it appears he is now weighing U.S. options.

At defensive back, second-year Redblacks Douglas Coleman, Hakeem Bailey and Damon Webb are all expected to take a step forward in 2023. When the window closes, pending free agents move into an exclusive 48-hour negotiating window with the teams that hold their present contracts. At that time, each team will be provided with the registered offers the pending free agents have received. Teams have until 10 a.m. Tuesday to make an offer to their pending free agents
