It wasn’t like the 33-year-old’s initial intention had been to stop playing. After finishing the 2022 season — mostly in a backup defensive back role, with plenty of time on special teams — Pruneau let the Redblacks know what his expectations might be if he returned. Pruneau ends his CFL career as the Redblacks’ all-time leader in games played and total tackles with 448 , to go with 10 interceptions, four sacks and four forced fumbles.Advertisement 4Since he was selected fourth overall in the 2014 CFL draft out of the University of Montreal, the Redblacks were all Pruneau had known. For eight seasons, he was a very good football player, a strong leader in the locker room and a great representative of the team’s core community values.
