Unsolicited advertisements sometimes are sent to unsuspecting victims, among them offering commissions for certain tasks performed.Seri Alam police Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said a 41-year-old man who works as a supervisor at a private company had lodged a police report claiming that he was duped in a job scam.
The job offered commissions upon completion of a task. The complainant was then added to a Telegram group where the instructions related for the tasks were relayed."Between April 16 and 17, 2023, the victim made 10 transactions totalling RM92,220 to six different accounts," he said. Mohd Sohaimi said the case is being investigated for fraud and the mule accounts angle is also being probed.
