MANILA, Philippines — Kevin Quiambao led the Goyang Sono Skygunners to a 76-63 victory over the Seoul Samsung Thunders in the Korean Basketball League ( KBL ) on Sunday. The Filipino import tallied 17 points, along with six assists and five rebounds, as the Skygunners exacted revenge for their 63-77 loss to the Thunders on February 7. Quiambao had a standout performance in that previous matchup, scoring 26 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
This latest 17-point outing extends Quiambao's streak of scoring in double digits to five consecutive games. He recently set a career-high with 36 points in an 86-82 win over the Wonju DB Promy on February 2. Quiambao has been a consistent force for Goyang in the KBL, with his only game below double-digit scoring occurring on his professional debut on January 12, when he suffered an ankle injury. In that game, he played nearly seven minutes, contributing two three-point baskets among his five attempts, for a total of six points and one rebound.Overall, Quiambao is averaging an impressive 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists for Goyang, who are currently in ninth place in the standings with a 12-25 win-loss record.
