MANILA, Philippines — Filipino import Kevin Quiambao exploded for a career-high 36 points to lead the Goyang Sono Skygunners to an 86-82 victory over the Wonju DB Promy in the Korean Basketball League 2025 season on Sunday. Quiambao, who shot 12-of-26 from the field, including 6-of-14 from beyond the arc, also recorded a career-high in rebounds with 12 boards in his first professional win.

The two-time UAAP MVP from La Salle also delivered three assists as Goyang ended a four-game losing streak. Quiambao and the Skygunners improved to an 11-24 record but remained at the bottom of the 10-team league. This marks the third consecutive game where Quiambao set a new career-high in points. Returning from an ankle injury sustained in his league debut, Quiambao scored 14 points in a 69-94 loss to Anyang on January 28. The 6-foot-5 forward then tallied 18 points in a matchup against fellow Filipino import and UAAP rival JD Cagulangan of Suwon, who won the game 78-73 on January 31. Now, Quiambao doubled his output for a new scoring best against Wonju, led by Fil-Am and reigning MVP Ethan Alvano.
