March 26, 2024, 6:35 pmSalinlahi: A “Puppet” Show, a devised play that features human puppetry through the adaptation of Western Visayan short folklore Ang Biik sa Bakod, will be staged at the Peter D. Garrucho Jr. Innovations Institute from April 3 to April 6.
It follows the story of a curious young girl Grasya, who spends most of her afternoon play time in their small yard. Her mother, a copra harvester, is seen by the townspeople as an abused woman and often struggles to make ends meet. Salinlahi: A “Puppet” Show is produced by Balay Tamawo, a newly-established production house composed of homegrown students from the Theater Arts Program of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Arts, Culture and Performance .It will focus on the creative talents of Coleen Aldana, Jaden Arca, Adrianna Baleda, Martin Del Rosario, Charlize Gloria, Kadesha Gumabay, Aaron Maraña, Karl Navela, Andrea Resurreccion, Joaquinito Ventura, and Samantha Voce.
