LAPU-LAPU City ranked first among the top 10 fastest-growing provinces and highly urbanized cities in the services sector in 2023.The Philippine Statistics Authority released the data on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025. PSA reported that Lapu-Lapu City recorded the highest growth at 18.2 percent among all provinces and HUCs in 2023.The same data showed that Batanes and Guimaras recorded annual increases of 17.0 percent and 12.4 percent, respectively, in their services sectors.
Cebu City ranked second in the category, with services contributing 89.7 percent to its economy. Not far behind was Taguig City, where services made up 89.1 percent of its total GDP.Leading the way was Makati City, where services accounted for 92.6 percent of the total economy.Other HUCs with the largest share of services in terms of GDP contribution include Iloilo City, Pasay City, Quezon City, San Juan City, Las Piñas City, Mandaluyong City and Pasig City.
