PLDT Inc. said Tuesday that its Asia Direct Cable system would be launched within the quarter, boosting the telco's international capacity and expanding the Philippines' connectivity.The company said the ADC, a 9,988-kilometer fiber-optic submarine cable system that will link the Philippines to Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and China, would be ready for service and increase connectivity by more than 100 terabits per second.
'Critical network infrastructure, including the ADC and our other international submarine cable systems, form a crucial part of the country's digital infrastructure and are key to our efforts to position the Philippines as a prime investment destination for hyperscalers and multinational corporations,' he added.PLDT said the ADC would solidify the Philippines' position as a strategic destination for carriers and content providers seeking to expand in the Asia-Pacific region.
