SENATOR Imee Marcos urged the Department of Trade and Industry to invite foreign food experts to help determine which Filipino dishes can be promoted and sold globally when she launched her first cookbook titled 'Pinakbest!Recipes from the Marcos Kitchen & More' on Saturday. Marcos was with Quezon City Mayor Maria Josefina 'Joy' Belmonte, multi-awarded chef Reggie Aspiras and DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual during the launch of her cookbook at the Pandesal Forum.
The elder sister of President Ferdinand asked the DTI chief if they can look for foreign food experts who can say which particular local foods will be attractive and can be sold globally. 'Why not allow these foreign food experts to get in, let's consult them and for sure they know better which Filipino foods that are 'patok' abroad. We have plenty of local food to choose from and that are surely best to be promoted and sold globally,' she said.
