Another ‘Latina Slayer’ rises! The Philippines has once again proven its dominance in Latin pageantry as Cavite’s own Dia Mate slayed and clinched the 2025 Reina Hispanoamericana crown.

“I think the most important value that we should have is kindness. In my experience here in Bolivia, Latinas have shown me so much kindness and so much love, even though racially, I am not Latina. And the most beautiful thing I’ve noticed is that even though we don’t speak the same language, we share the same culture, the same heart, and the same faith in God.
Apart from her landmark victory, Dia also received the Best National Costume award for her ensemble, “Banaag,” designed by Ehrran Montoya. The elaborate piece drew inspiration from the ancient Baroque churches of the Philippines, a UNESCO-recognized architectural treasure.
