Pre-election surveys indicate that a significant number of popular Filipino celebrities could win Senate seats in the upcoming 2025 elections, potentially leading to the highest representation of celebrities in Philippine political history.

When Filipinos vote in elections, they often only remember a handful of candidates, leading to a situation where a large number of popular personalities like actors, singers, and news broadcasters can win Senate seats. In 2025, eleven popular celebrities could be elected to the 24-member Philippine Senate , an unprecedented number. This is largely due to the influence of celebrity culture and name recognition in Philippine politics.

Four celebrities who won in 2022 will serve another term: actors Robin Padilla and Jinggoy Estrada, and news broadcasters Loren Legarda and Raffy Tulfo. Seven others could join them, according to pre-election surveys. News broadcasters Erwin and Ben Tulfo, who are brothers of Senator Tulfo, and former Senate president Vicente Sotto III are among the frontrunners. Other celebrities in the running include returning senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao; reelectionists Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Lito Lapid Lapid; and TV host Willie Revillame. If all these celebrities win, they would make up nearly half of the Senate. Additionally, 21 out of 24 seats could be filled by members of political families, highlighting the dynastic nature of Philippine politics
