The Philippines raised its win-loss record to 2-1 in the Under-15 Women's Softball World Cup following a 7-0 forfeit win over Uganda in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
The Cebuana Lhuillier-backed team opened the tournament with a 3-2 win over Czechia on Saturday but suffered a shutout loss to powerhouse United States early Sunday.'Our young athletes have shown remarkable determination and have proven that they have what it takes to bring this home.
They only need to put in the work and plan accordingly so they can beat the other formidable foes they will still be facing,' said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines .The Filipinos, whose trip here was also sponsored by Philippine Airlines, will take on the Puerto Ricans on Monday and Brazilians on Tuesday.
