Reports reaching the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Regional 8 showed that the eagle found in Carayacay village was about three years old.He then reported the incident to the DENR through its Community Environment and Natural Resources Office – Dolores , which has jurisdiction over the area.
Observed to be in a good condition, Maslog E.S. was turned over to the PEF Center for further examination and rehabilitation.DENR 8 Director Crizaldy Barcelo said sightings of the Philippine eagle were extremely rare and protecting them was a challenge. “Its presence in our region is a testament that we still have healthy forests which we need to sustainably manage and protect,” Barcelo stressed.
