MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines placed second in the first ever World Cinematic Cosplay Summit, the cosplay video competition from the organizers of the World Cosplay Summit.
Team TFS or Tokusatsu Fan Squad, composed of Karlonne Santos and Joren Rivas Selda, competed in the cosplay video film festival with a skit from the Super Sentai Series Kamen Rider Geats.For their win, Santos and Selda will be invited to the World Cosplay Summit 2024 to be held in August in Nagoya, Japan.Cosplayers Joren Selda and Karlonne Santos celebrate after their win as 2nd Place in the World Cinematic Cosplay Summit held online.
Team Poland, whose video portrayal was from Full Metal Alchemist, won while third place went to Team United Kingdom, whose video portrayal was from The Legend of Zelda video game series.The World Cinematic Cosplay Summit is an offshoot of the WCS Video Division Competition which was first held in 2021.During that competition, Jin Joson and Amado Carl Hernandez won the Best Costume Award, the Philippines' first win in the WCS since it joined in 2013.
