PGH assures public of safety precautions for experimental plasma treatment for COVID19
Watch also in iWant or TFC.tv The Philippine General Hospital said its experimental treatment for the coronavirus disease 2019 using convalescent plasma therapy should not cause reinfection among recipient patients.
In an interview with DZMM, PGH spokesperson Dr. Jonas Del Rosario explained that the screening procedures ensure that only fully-recovered patients are asked to donate blood or plasma. He said the only complication that could arise from the treatment is common blood transfusion reaction, which the hospital is prepared for.
