“aggressive” targeted mass testing and contact tracing of possible virus carriers will be the “game changer” in the country’s fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 .Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr.
, National Task Force COVID-19 chief implementer and Presidential Peace Adviser, said this on Sunday night as the government raises the possibility of implementing a “selective” community quarantine.
Galvez cited Valenzuela City, Quezon City, and the city of Manila which have either started, or will soon start, the mass testing in their localities. The national task force chief estimates that around 6,000 to 10,000 suspected virus carriers will be tested in the NCR alone. Once the mass testing starts, Galvez said the government will have a more complete picture of how big the effect of the virus pandemic is in the country.
