The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lost around P250 million Lotto revenue after its operation was halted for four days.

Royina Garma, PCSO general manager, said their agency lost about P250 million from Lotto revenue alone, saying Lotto generates an average of P60 million per day.

Meantime, Assistant General Manager Arnel Casas said they cannot provide an estimate to the losses for other games, because the draws and systems of the other games are different and are not definite. “Sometimes, some areas draw twice a day. That’s why we cannot give an estimate.” “The first one allowed was Lotto. This was after we studied everything about Lotto, and learned that it is very transparent, and there are safety nets placed in its process. That is why we immediately asked Pres. Duterte to return it,” she said. “We are very thankful to him for bringing back Lotto.”

Garma said that they are now studying the modifications on the systems and procedures of the games which are still on hold, saying they want them to make them more transparent to cast out doubts in the minds of the public.
