Palace: Metro Manila hospital bed capacity enough for COVID19 cases

MANILA - Metro Manila still has enough bed capacity for COVID-19 cases, Malacañang said Tuesday after the Department of Health asked hospitals to allot more beds for patients of the respiratory disease.

"Wala pa po sa kalahati ang occupied na hospital bed exclusively devoted for COVID-19," he said in a Palace press briefing.In an interview Tuesday afternoon on TeleRadyo, Dr. Rustico Jimenez, President of the Private Hospitals Association, said that there is also sufficient number of available respirators, aside from hospital beds.

The order came after at least 11 hospitals have had their COVID-dedicate intensive care unit beds filled up by 100 percent.
