The cost of heating with oil took another jump as the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced an increase in the price of furnace oil on Oct. 12.

Diesel also got more expensive with the minimum price increasing by 20.7 cpl while the minimum price of regular self-serve gas went up 3.4 cpl.Regular self-serve gas ranges from 179.6 to 180.8 cpl.

Over the last week, the price of furnace oil increased by around 40.0 cpl while gas went up around 15.0 cpl. In announcing the latest change, IRAC said the price of gas went up 3.0 cpl, furnace oil rose by 20.0 cpl and diesel increased 18.0 cpl.IRAC’s next scheduled pricing adjustment is Oct. 14.
