THE Office of the Vice President has formally inaugurated its new satellite office located in Zamboanga City despite the absence of Vice President Sara
Duterte who was represented by OVP director Norman Baloro.
The new facility, located along Veterans Avenue Ext. in Barangay Tetuan, can accommodate more people seeking OVP assistance.“From 2023 to 2024, the OVP Western Mindanao satellite office was able to render assistance to almost 265,000 beneficiaries, ranging from various programs of the agency such as medical, burial, and relief initiatives from 2023 to 2024,” the OVP said in a statement.
Among the successful projects of the Western Mindanao OVP office is the “MagNegosyo ‘Ta Day” program which aided about 7,561 beneficiaries. “The satellite offices bring the assistance of the OVP closer to indigent, marginalized, and underserved communities since the areas identified were based on accessibility, higher volume of traffic, mode of transportation, presence of hospitals, and high people traffic,” the OVP said.Editor’s Note: This is an updated article.
