The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has opened a new satellite office in Zamboanga City to improve public service accessibility for Filipinos in Western Mindanao. While Vice President Sara Duterte was absent from the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Director Norman Baloro represented her and emphasized the office's role in expanding OVP programs' reach.
The Office of the Vice President opened its Western Mindanao Satellite Office in Zamboanga City to facilitate wider and more accessible public service s for Filipinos in that region.
Vice President Sara Duterte was not around to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony held on Tuesday, October 8. She was represented at the event by OVP Director for Operations Norman Baloro, who is also in charge of overseeing special projects and satellite offices for the organization.“With this new location, various programs of OVP will be more accessible to many of our countrymen from Western Mindanao,” the OVP said in a Facebook post.
The OVP also awarded a total of P285,000 to the beneficiaries of its Mag-negosyo Ta ‘Day program. One of its recipients is the Bamboo Alicia Coconut Farmers’ Marketing Cooperative, which accepted P150,000. Nine individuals likewise received P15,000 each for their small businesses including sari-sari stores, carinderia, bakery, among other enterprises, according to the OVP.
