Most of the country will experience cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line and northeast monsoon, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Thursday, March 2.
The shear line—the boundary between cold air from the northeast monsoon and warm air from the easterlies—may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Southern Leyte, and Davao Oriental. Cloudy and rainy weather due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” may also prevail over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, and Oriental Mindoro.
PAGASA warned against the threat of flooding or landslides caused by “moderate with at times heavy rains.” Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms and the shear line may bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Palawan, the rest of Visayas, and Mindanao.PAGASA said the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with light amihan rains.
