CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Despite the recent increase in the prices of petroleum products, the power in the province has gone down by more than P1, the lone power distributor here said over the weekend.
The Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative said in a post on the social media page that the electricity rate for the month of October will be reduced by P1.11 48 per kilowatt-hour .The reduction was attributed to three factors.'We had an increase in our renewable energy production by 34.83 percent that resulted in a 14.02-percent decrease in the procurement of fuel-based energy.
'We also implemented improvements in our meter reading, and the availability of various collection methods have further contributed to the favorable adjustment in electricity rates, providing consumers with greater convenience. These factors collectively reflect commitment to sustainable energy practices and the enhancement of service delivery for all member-consumer-owners,' the post added.
