Raiders senior consultant Michael Maguire believes Joseph Tapine’s huge shot on Broncos fullback Reece Walsh is a lesson learnt for the young gun.
The tackle divided the NRL world, with the 21-year-old leaning over to nurse a knee injury before Tapine delivered a mammoth blow with a full head of steam in the final seconds of Brisbane and Canberra’s Round 26 clash. Maguire, who joined Ricky Stuart’s coaching staff ahead of the 2023 season, was surprised by how well Walsh took the blow.
