Cold nights and mornings will continue with the re-emergence of the northeast monsoon or 'amihan' which could last until the second week of March, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration ( Pagasa ) said Sunday. Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said that the northeast monsoon is specifically affecting Metro Manila and Northern and Central Luzon.

In its 5 a.m. advisory, the weather bureau said that the easterlies are affecting Bicol Region where cloudy skies with scattered downpours and thunderstorms will prevail in the next 24 hours. The same weather system, along with localized thunderstorms, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms in other parts of the country, Pagasa said
