Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante confirmed that a new hospital, which will serve not only local residents but also those from nearby areas, will soon be built in the city. The Cadiz City Medical Center, located in Barangay Tinampa-an, will be a 50-bed health facility equipped with a fully functional operating room, X-ray, and MRI machines. It will also feature medical wards, a pharmacy, a laboratory, and isolation rooms.
Escalante shared that the city government has allocated P270 million for the project, which is expected to be completed within 670 days. The mayor explained that under the city's healthcare program, the St. Anne Medical Center, which was converted into the Cadiz District Hospital, was initially designed to cater to local patients. However, it quickly became a referral hospital for northern Negros, accommodating many patients from other areas.
