‘Water all through the streets’: Shepparton flooding ‘really concerning’‘Water all through the streets’: Shepparton flooding ‘really concerning’Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell says the flooding situation in the regional Victorian city of Shepparton is “really concerning”. “A flood that’s exceeded what the previous modern era record was in 1974 and we’ve got water inundating parts of the town that have never been inundated before, not in modern times,” Mr Birrell told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “There’s just water all through the streets, thousands and thousands of properties inundated, businesses.”

‘The least’ Labor can do is be ‘transparent’ about Syrian repatriation plan‘The least’ Labor can do is be ‘transparent’ about Syrian repatriation planSky News host Peta Credlin says as citizens of a democracy, we deserve “proper information” about the Albanese government’s plan to repatriate the families of ISIS fighters from Syrian camps. 'No one from the government’s been prepared to level with the Australian people about who is coming, when they're coming, what crimes they may have committed, and how we’re going to be kept safe once they're back,” Ms Credlin said. She said it's this sort of 'gutlessness' to front the camera and provide the detail we all deserve that 'gives governments a bad name and that tarnishes our democracy'. 'There is a case that can be made for bringing them back, especially for the children who have done no wrong,' Ms Credlin said. 'I would probably argue against bringing the women back, but I would at least give a minister credit, standing in front of the cameras and making that case to the Australian people. “But that's what this government won’t do. And given this repatriation was never mentioned before the election, the least they can do now is be transparent.”

‘Political rectitude’ needs to be ‘maintained’‘Political rectitude’ needs to be ‘maintained’Sky News host Peta Credlin says independent Senator David Pocock is 'threatening to scuttle the government's workplace relation laws' unless federal taxpayers forgive the ACT government's '$100 million in housing debt'. 'In defending his bid to make support for the government's industry-wide strike legislation, conditional upon a $100 million gift to the ACT, new Senator David Pocock cited the former government's alleged deal to drop Tasmania's housing debt in return for support for tax cuts,' Ms Credlin said. 'Well, on that two wrongs don't make a right – and I thought these green independents were supposed to be all about integrity. 'To her credit, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher has rebuffed Pocock's brazen demand, and she said, and I quote, 'I don't think it's right to waive debts for the price of a vote on the Senate floor'.' Ms Credlin said Ms Gallagher is 'absolutely right', but 'let's hope this political rectitude is maintained'.

‘As time moves on’ Queen Consort Camilla may be known as ‘Queen’‘As time moves on’ Queen Consort Camilla may be known as ‘Queen’ITV News Royal Editor Chris Ship says as time moves on, we’ll probably start referring to Queen Consort Camilla as simply the “Queen”. “There was this story around a little while ago that some newspapers might start calling her the ‘Queen’, rather than the ‘Queen Consort’,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray. “That’s technically what her title is, she is legally the Queen, and she was always going to be, even before the late Queen Elizabeth announced earlier in this year that she’d like Camilla to be known as the Queen Consort. 'I think she’s quite happy at the moment with the title 'Queen Consort', but of course, as time moves on, we will start just referring to them as the King and Queen.'

Prince William could ‘open himself up’ to criticism from the ‘green lobby’Prince William could ‘open himself up’ to criticism from the ‘green lobby’ITV News Royal Editor Chris Ship says Prince William is campaigning 'more and more' on environmental matters and might open himself up to some criticism from the 'green lobby' if himself and wife Kate were to have a fourth child. Speculation has recently grown amid reports Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are rumoured to be planning for a fourth child. Mr Ship spoke to Sky News Australia host Paul Murray about the issue. 'It's entirely possible – of course she might have a fourth. 'Although, let's remember, William and Kate are in their 40s now – I think they're done with three, that's my personal prediction – although it's entirely up to them, it's a private matter. 'There's actually a slight serious point to this and Harry's mentioned it before and now William's campaigning more and more on environmental matters – a lot of people say that actually in the interest of the planet you shouldn't be having four children. 'And I'm sure William might open himself up to some criticism from that sort of green lobby if he were to have a fourth. 'But you know what, that's their choice.'
