THIS is with reference to the news article titled 'Data from 28M passports at risk,' placed as the headline for the Sept. 20, 2024 issue of The Manila Times, written by Ms. Bernadette E. Tamayo.Please be informed that the news article made mention of the National Printing Office suggesting that the government agency printed the Philippine passports for the Department of Foreign Affairs.

To clarify this misinformation, this office respectfully informs your company that the NPO at present has no participation in the printing of Philippine passports with the DFA and that APO Production Unit Inc. is the government entity in charge of the printing of the passports.Both government entities are separate and distinct from each other; however, both are under the Presidential Communications Office under Executive Order 16, s. of 2023.
