The Muntinlupa City government is calling on volunteer eco-warriors to help clean up waterways and plant trees with rewards awaiting them. ManilaBulletin
It recently launched "Make Your City Proud” volunteer program that aims to address social issues such as environmental awareness through volunteerism and camaraderie among Muntinlupeños.
Pepsi Cola Products Phils. recently held a river cleanup and tree planting along the Sto. Niño creek in Muntinlupa in coordination with the Lake Management Office and Laguna Lake Development Authority “Through this initiative, we aim to harness the synergy between the local government, the private sector, and citizen volunteers to achieve bigger goals together, instead of on our own," said Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
Volunteers will be given perks and incentives by the city government’s partners in the private sector. By participating in each activity, volunteers can earn and accumulate points that they can redeem for rewards in partner merchants such as Jollibee, Pancake House, Max’s Restaurant, Kenny Rogers Roasters, Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Art Fresh Chicken Corp.The volunteers will return on June 24 to plant trees, bougainvillea, and palmera at the Bayanan Baywalk as well as at Weidmann, Putatan.
