Ang mga komyuter, Christmas wish na araw-arawin na lang daw ang extended hours sa MRT at LRT.
Maagang pamasko para sa mga commuter ang extended operating hours ng MRT at LRT na magsisimula sa susunod na linggo. Para sa ilang nakausap ng GMA Integrated News, ginhawa ang dulot ng mas mahabang oras ng biyahe sa LRT. Para sa mag-aaral na si Vincent Mendoza, makatutulong ito lalo na kapag may lakad siya o pupuntahan ngayong panahon ng Pasko. Sa MRT-3, extended ang oras ng biyahe mula Dec. 17 hanggang 23.
Bawas oras naman ang biyahe ng MRT-3 sa Dec. 24 at 31, at adjusted ang operations nila sa mismong Pasko at Bagong Taon. Sa LRT-2 naman, extended ang biyahe ng mga tren Dec. 17 pa lang. “Mas maganda araw-araw kasi minsan kasi nago-overtime ‘yung iba. Kailangan nila mas higit na oras sa ano,” ani Reyes.
Para kay Ella Villagracia naman, mas mainam na maging permanente ang extended hours sa biyahe ng tren dahil “sa sobrang traffic.” Pero ayon sa Department of Transportation, maaaring malagay sa alanganin ang kakayahan ng kanilang maintenance team na magsagawa ng kinakailangang checks at repairs.Hindi raw puwedeng isakripisyo ang mga kailangang gawin na maintenance sa MRT.
