SAN FERNANDO CITY — The city recorded 12 new cases of the coronavirus disease on Saturday, nine of them were personnel of the regional police office here.
City Mayor Alfredo Pablo Ortega said the regional police office has assured that all necessary actions were being done to prevent the spread of the virus.Police Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., Ilocos regional police director, had recently placed the entire police regional camp on total lockdown after three of its personnel tested positive for the COVID-19 on Sept. 3.
Ortega said the PNP, the provincial government of La Union, and the city government have been working together to address the rise of the virus cases involving police personnel.
