MANILA, Philippines — As the conductor of the orchestra for Alas Pilipinas, Jia Morado-De Guzman embraces the higher call of representing the Philippine flag.
Now as the team captain of the national team, Morado-De Guzman believes in her squad capabilities despite the short time of preparation. 'We keep saying that we have this short preparation for this AVC 2024 Challenge Cup, and that is something that is out of our control. But moving forward, hopefully, all the parties involved will continue to cooperate so we can achieve our goals better in the future,' Morado-De Guzman told the press.
'While believing that the mix of young talents and seniors in the national pool is an advantage, Morado still emphasized the need for more time for the team to gel. 'Honestly, when I saw the lineup I was so happy because we are strong, team Philippines is really strong, it's just we need time to prepare for better.'Premier Volleyball League's eight-time best setter also shared that having Julia Coronel of De La Salle University as her co-setter is an advantage.
