Metro Manila’s Covid-19 positivity rate drops to 2.9% — OCTA

The Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila dipped to 2.9 percent as of Jan. 18, said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David on Friday, Jan. 20.

In an update posted on social media, David said the positivity rate in Metro Manila was at 4.7 percent on Jan. 11.

The WHO recommended that the positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control. He also said that Metro Manila’s reproduction number—or the average number of secondary infections—fell to 0.73.Moreover, David said that the average daily attack rate or incidence rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila was at 0.71 percent 100,000 population.
