The Covid-19 cases in Metro Manila may have already peaked, which means infections in the central region may subside soon, the OCTA Research Group’s latest monitoring showed.

In his tweet on Thursday evening, Aug. 11. OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David noted that the one-week Covid-19 growth rate has dropped to 1 percent.“While there is a possibility cases are coming to a peak, or already peaked, in the NCR , we will know next week if the trends hold,” David said.Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from among those who have been tested for Covid-19.

The World Health Organization has recommended that the Covid-19 positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or lower.
