MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 infected 4,533 more people in the country as active cases increase to nearly 38,000 as of Thursday, according to the Department of Health’s daily tracker.
The DOH said 37,962 people are currently ill with the disease – higher than the 36,035 recorded Wednesday, August 10.Its tracker also showed that an additional 2,574 patients recovered, pushing total recoveries to 3,719,602, while 27 others were not able to survive COVID-19, raising the death toll to 60,916.
The fresh infections pushed nationwide confirmed coronavirus cases to 3,818,480 since the pandemic hit the Philippines in 2020, the DOH added.
