Mayor Belmonte to continue with clearing operations even after the 60-day period prescribed by DILG

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has vowed the city government will continue to enforce the clearing of obstructions on public properties even after the 60-day deadline imposed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The DILG earlier ordered all the local government units to clear public lots from all forms of hindrances especially those utilized for private purposes within the said period.

In dealing with stubborn groups, Belmonte assured that sustained dismantling efforts will remain in accordance with the order of President Duterte. Belmonte noted the city also got the services of towing companies and has purchased wheel clamps which will be used in anti-illegal parking operations.The city will also develop vending sites for vendors affected by the clearing operations.
