MAYNILAD Water Services Inc. said on Tuesday that its leak repair activities continue amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine to improve water services within its coverage area. “The water company has been sustaining its pipe repairs and other network maintenance activities during the enhanced community quarantine, enabling it to repair 244 old and leaky pipes in different locations within its West Zone concession during the period,” Maynilad said in a release.
Amid the ongoing leak repair activities, Maynilad said precautionary measures are in place such as social distancing to protect its workers from coronavirus disease 2019 infection even as they work to ensure that households receive steady water supply they need to maintain good hygiene and sanitation. Since 2008, the company has repaired more than 370,000 leaks when it first launched its Nonrevenue Water Management Program, which intends to reduce physical and commercial water losses.
