SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan: President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

on Wednesday assured the public that there would be no looming rice shortage in the country despite the warning of a farmer group of a repeat of the 2018 rice crisis in the country.In a chance interview, the President said that while rice supply can be expected to decrease in the coming months, he does not expect a rice crisis in the country.

'So we are watching and waiting to see what the production levels are going to be after the last planting season before the harvest, for the upcoming harvest,' Marcos told reporters.'We may have to import. So that's -- we're keeping that option open. So but as it stands now.... Basta't things -- all things remain equal we are -- we have enough supply and that we'll be able to keep the prices stable,' he added.
