SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan: President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

on Wednesday said he would talk to Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian 'soon' over his statement saying that the Philippines should oppose 'Taiwan independence' amid United States' expanded access to Philippine military bases under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement .Speaking to reporters, the President said they were 'a little surprised' by Huang's comments but 'I just put it down to the difference in language.

''I think there must have been an element lost in translation. English is not his first language but I am very interested to know what it is that he meant,' Marcos said during a chance interview.'I interpret it as him trying to say that you should not [let the] Philippines, do not provoke or intensify the tensions because it will impact badly on the Filipinos...
