THE Malacañang Palace has not yet issued an official announcement declaring March 17, 2025 as a special non-working holiday for Davao City , despite the city government 's request submitted as early as the first week of February. Dabawenyos are still awaiting confirmation as the city’s month-long founding anniversary celebration formally opens on March 1.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod confirmed that the resolution was sent to the Office of the President on February 5, with delivery completed on February 6. The month-long celebration is expected to feature a wide range of cultural, historical, and civic activities that showcase the vibrant traditions and achievements of Dabawenyos. These events not only celebrate the city’s rich history but also honor its progress, resilience, and the unity of its people.
