The National Commission of Senior Citizens Cluster 8-Davao Region (NCSC-Davao) announced that the payout for senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 will commence soon. This follows Republic Act 11982, commonly known as the Expanded Centenarian Act.
Maria Victoria Arancon, project development officer of NCSC in Davao Region and Caraga Region, stated that the first payout will be held on February 26, 2025, at the Davao City Recreation Center, formerly Almendras Gym, in coordination with other agencies. \ Arancon explained during Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, February 10, 2025, at SM City Davao, that the implementation of RA 11982 will include payouts for octogenarians, nonagenarians, and centenarians. Following Davao City, payouts are scheduled for Davao del Norte with 29 beneficiaries; Davao de Oro with 10; and Davao Occidental with 10 beneficiaries. She mentioned that the central office is currently validating the number of beneficiaries and aims to distribute the funds by January. Arancon also encouraged senior citizens who have reached advanced ages to apply immediately as NCSC continues to receive applications. \ John Ritrex G. Juanich, a project development officer at NCSC, revealed that there are approximately 78 beneficiaries in Davao City alone, encompassing octogenarians, nonagenarians, and centenarians. Juanich clarified that octogenarians and nonagenarians will receive P10,000 each, while centenarians will receive P100,000. He emphasized that beneficiaries will receive these cash incentives only upon reaching these specific ages, not annually. Among the requirements for beneficiaries are a Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Birth Certificate or PSA ID. He further stated that they need to visit their nearest Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), which collaborates with NCSC in the implementation of this initiative
