THE 2025 Cebu Marathon, which attracted over 12,000 local and foreign runners, was noted to be successful for some but faced numerous complaints from many participants.Several runners in the 42-kilometer and 25 km distances took to social media to express their dissatisfaction regarding the post-race meal and the insufficiency of medals from the event held on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2025, at the South Road Properties.Joshua Glenn Solano, a marathon participant, told SunStar Cebu on Monday, Jan.

The race kit included a finisher’s shirt, singlet, event towel and medal for runners in the 42 km and 25 km events. For the post-race meal, several runners posted online photos of what they received: a meat roll bread, a cheese bread and one banana.Despite these complaints from some runners, another participant named “Ten Zam” commented on a different Facebook page that the post-race meal at the Cebu Marathon would likely be similar to those at international marathon events.
