Manila records 15 new cases of COVID19; total now at 797

The city of Manila recorded 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 on Wednesday, raising the total to 797 cases, the city public information office said.Tondo 1 has the most number of active cases of COVID-19 with 122, followed by Sampaloc with 117, and Sta. Cruz with 59. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier placed Sampaloc and the first district of Tondo under hard lockdown in an effort to contain the virus.

The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other regions for another two weeks while placing other areas under a general community quarantine. To date, the Philippines has tallied 10,004 coronavirus infections, of whom 658 died while 1,506 have recovered.
