Manila logs 14 new cases of COVID19, total now at 833

The city of Manila recorded 14 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 on Friday, raising the total to 833 cases, the city public information office said.Tondo 1 has the most number of active cases of COVID-19 with 139, followed by Sampaloc with 118, and Sta. Cruz with 62. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier placed Sampaloc and the first district of Tondo under hard lockdown in an effort to contain the virus.

The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other regions for another two weeks while placing other areas under a general community quarantine. To date, the Philippines has tallied 10,463 coronavirus infections, of whom 696 died while 1,734 have recovered.
