The Manila City government is hiring sewers and master cutters who will sew up to a million washable face masks that will be distributed to residents of the city.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said that through this project, they aim to provide around 670,000 families in the city with at least one washable face mask each to protect them from the coronavirus disease .
“Kung loloobin ng Panginoong Diyos, pipilitin nating gumawa ng isang milyon na washable face masks ,” he added. In a post on its Facebook page Tuesday night, the city government shared the text which states: “Just want to warn everybody passing Mandaluyong…even in the car you have to wear a mask… my son and driver was flagged down and fined only last Sunday… and the fee is 5k per person!”
