LUCENA CITY – A weekend outing turned tragic on Sunday, April 23, after a picnicker allegedly drowned in a swimming pool in Antipolo City.

Investigators identified the fatality as Nemesio Ariola, who went for a swim at the pool in a resort in Barangay San Jose on Sunday afternoon with two others after a drinking spree, the Region 4A police said in a report.Rescuers gave him emergency first aid and rushed him to the nearest hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
