Superintendent Scott Tanner has revealed police believe the 66-year-old man was 'in a relationship' with the woman he allegedly murdered in Ballina, northern New South Wales.
Officers then raced to Holden Lane, near Cherry Street, where the body of the woman, believed to be aged 64, was located.

Offer ends 31 October, 2023 >"The man - aged 66 - was arrested at the police station and has since been charged with murder and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO ," NSW Police wrote in a statement.
"The body was located adjacent to the building in an area that was not accessible to the public," he told the media on Wednesday afternoon.
